PROCEEEDINGS OF THE
BEADLE COUNTY COMMISSION NOVEMBER 14, 2006
The Board of
Beadle County Commissioners met Tuesday – November 14, 2006 at 9:00
a.m., pursuant to adjournment of November 9 with members present: Chairman
Mattke, Vice Chairman Chase, Dahl, Marcus and Ziegeldorf.
The minutes of October 31, November 1 and November 9, 2006 were
approved as read with no additions or changes.
Moved by Ziegeldorf, seconded by Marcus. Motion carried. To approve
for Tom Kirchen, Beadle County Highway Superintendent and Jerry Batien,
Highway Foreman to attend 2006 Road Seminar in Sioux Falls SD, December 1,
2006.
Moved by Chase, seconded by Dahl. Motion carried. To approve gas
quotes from McGillvrey Oil for delivery of 6000 gallons of #1 dyed diesel
fuel at a cost of $2.4672 per gallon. Quotes were received from Raymond
Oil at $2.4830 per gallon, McGillvrey Oil $2.4672 per gallon. Yale Coop
did not bid.
The Board of Commissioners met as the Beadle County Drainage Board
at 10:00 a.m. with Foster Township Board to discuss drainage issues and
proposed project plans for Section 20 in Foster Township. The Board
approved the project plan on condition that Farm Service Agency (FSA) and
National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) agree that there will be no
liability to Beadle County, Foster Township and any landowners with regard
to any wetland violation. Foster Township is to gain the approval from FSA
and NRCS in writing and present that approval to the Beadle County
Drainage Board prior to commencing any work on this project.
Linda Smith from the Beadle County Extension Center met with the
board to give quarterly updates. Judy Stevens from the Beadle County 4-H
Leaders Association met with board to ask for allocation for travel monies
to 4-H camps.
Moved by Chase, seconded by Marcus. Motion carried. To approve
allocation of $1,000.00 to the Beadle County 4-H Leaders Association for
2006.
Moved by Ziegeldorf, seconded by Marcus. Motion carried. To approve
variance request of Doug Schiltz and Karma McGillvrey to add a two car
garage to the west side of house closer than the 30 foot setback required
in ordinance. (Lots 17-20, Block 29, Original Plat, Town of Wolsey – 448
Linden Ave SE Wolsey)
Moved by Dahl, seconded by Chase. Motion carried. To approve
employment of Pat McAllister as a jailor at the Regional Correction Center
starting date November 10, 2006.
On motion the Board adjourned to meet next on November 30, 2006 at
9:00 a.m.
