PROCEEDINGS OF THE BEADLE COUNTY COMMISSION

JANUARY 4, 2007

     The Board of Beadle County Commissioners met Thursday – January 4, 2007 at 9:00 a.m., pursuant to adjournment of December 28, 2006 with members present: Chairman Mattke, Vice Chairman Chase, Marcus.

     The minutes of December 28, 2006 were approved as read with no additions or changes.

     Chairman Mattke having determined the business for 2006 to have been completed adjourned at 9:15 a.m. – sine die.

     Judge Jon Erickson performed the swearing in of the following elected officials: Denis Drake, Commissioner for District #1; Larry Mattke, Commissioner for District #5 and Barb O’Riley, Beadle County Register of Deeds. Tom Beerman, Beadle County Sheriff was sworn in by Judge Jon Erickson on January 2, 2007.

     Chairman Mattke called for nominations for 2007 Chairman, Commissioner Marcus nominated Commissioner Mattke.

     Moved by Chase, seconded by Marcus. Motion carried. To close nominations and instruct the Auditor to cast unanimous vote for Commissioner Mattke as Chairman.

     Chairman Mattke called for nominations for 2007 Vice Chairman. Commissioner Drake nominated Commissioner Marcus.

     Moved by Chase, seconded by Drake. Motion carried. To close nominations and instruct the Auditor to cast unanimous vote for Commissioner Marcus as Vice Chairman.

     Commissioner Mattke Chaired the remainder of the meeting with members present: Mattke, Chase, Marcus and Drake. Absent: Werner.

     Moved by Chase, seconded by Marcus. Motion carried. To approve 2007 Drug Agreements with the following Pharmacies: K-Mart, Lewis Drug, Coborn’s and Northside.

     Moved by Chase. Seconded by Marcus. Motion carried. To approve meal contracts for prisoner meals with CBM as presented by Jail Administrator Deputy Skip McWethy.

     Moved by Marcus, seconded by Drake. Motion carried. To approve 2007 Jail Agreements with the following Counties: Hand, Hyde, Jerauld, Kingsbury, Sanborn and Spink.

     Moved by Chase, seconded by Marcus. Motion carried. To approve 2007 JDC Agreements with the following Counties: Davison, Hand, Hyde, Jerauld, Kingsbury, Sanborn, Spink and Union.

     Moved by Marcus, seconded by Chase. Motion carried. To approve quote from Wiedenman Construction for additional countertop and drawer units in the Correctional Center Control Room, in the amount of $2,150.00.

     The Board worked on General Policies for 2007.

     On motion the Board adjourned to meet next on January 9, 2007 at 9:00 a.m.
