PROCEEDINGS OF THE BEADLE COUNTY COMMISSION
MARCH 13, 2007
The Board of Beadle County Commissioners met Tuesday – March 13, 2007 at 9:00 a.m., pursuant to adjournment of February 28, 2007 with members present: Chairman Mattke, Vice Chair Marcus, Chase, Drake and Werner.
The minutes of February 28, 2007 were approved as corrected.
Terry Zell with Department of Legislative Audit met with the board to inform them that the Audit for 2005 and 2006 had been completed.
Moved by Werner, seconded by Drake. Motion carried. To ask each department that had audit comments to report back to the commission in person and a written analysis of their suggestions or corrections.
Moved by Werner, seconded by Drake. To approve bid from Fisher Industries for Washed Rock Type 1B at $6.00 per ton from Wolsey Pit (SW4, Section 5, Wolsey Township).
The Board of Commissioners conducted interviews for assistant custodial/maintenance personnel.
Darla Bockorny from Department of Labor met with the Board to update them on programs that the Department of Labor is involved in and how they can help governmental agencies.
Moved by Chase, seconded by Drake. To declare surplus 1,380 lbs of miscellaneous metals from the Court House and Extension Center and to sell to Barti Metal for $41.40.
Moved by Chase, seconded by Werner. To approve abatement of 2006 tax in the amount of $129.94 for SanCom Inc (OTL 19 West Industrial Park 2-110-62) Record #15295 as this property is centrally assessed by State.
Moved by Werner, seconded Marcus. Motion carried. To approve removing 6 ton per axle weight limits on certain Beadle County oil roads effective March 13, 2007. 40MPH Speed Limits to remain.
County Road 31 (411th Ave) from US Highway 14 North to County Road 8 (196th St)
County Road 29 (409th Ave) from US Highway 14 South to Beadle County/Sanborn County Line
Truck Route from Huron City Limits on 21st (210th St) to Custer Ave then North on Custer Ave to US Hwy 14 and to include 3rd St
SE from Custer Ave West to James River
At the first sign of breakup on any of the above County Roads the Beadle County Highway Superintendent will reinstate the axle limits immediately.
Any party responsible for the break up of any County Oil roads will be liable for repairs costs.
On motion the Board adjourned to meet next on March 20, 2007 at 9:00 a.m.
