PROCEEDINGS OF THE BEADLE COUNTY COMMISSION
APRIL 2, 2007
The Board of Beadle County Commissioners met Monday – April 2, 2007 at 9:00 a.m., pursuant to adjournment of March 29, 2007 with members present: Chairman Mattke, Vice Chair Marcus, Chase, Drake and Werner.
Moved by Marcus, seconded by Werner. Motion carried. To approve to accept resignation with regret from Tom Kirchen, Beadle County Highway Superintendent effective April 30, 2007. The Board wishes Tom good luck in his future endeavors.
Moved by Werner, seconded by Chase. Motion carried. To go into Executive Session at 9:33 a.m. to discuss personnel matters. Chairman Mattke declared Executive Session over at 10:16 a.m.
Moved by Werner, seconded by Chase. Motion carried. To approve to appoint Jerry Batien as Interim Superintendent effective April 2, 2007 with a yearly salary of $40,000.00 plus longevity.
Moved by Chase, seconded by Marcus. Motion carried. To approve to post and advertise for a working foreman and to close by April 20, 2007.
Moved by Marcus, seconded by Werner. Motion carried. To approve for Beadle County Offices to close at noon on Friday, April 6, 2007 in observance of Good Friday.
Moved by Chase, seconded by Drake. Motion carried. To approve to appoint Dick Werner as NECOG representative.
On motion the Board adjourned to meet next on April 10, 2007 at 9:00 a.m.
