PROCEEDINGS OF THE BEADLE COUNTY COMMISSION
JANUARY 8, 2008
The Board of Beadle County Commission met Tuesday – January 8, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., pursuant to adjournment of January 3, 2008 with members present: Chairperson Marcus, Vice Chairman Chase, Drake, Mattke. Absent: Werner.
The minutes of December 31, 2007 and January 3, 2008 were approved as read with no additions or changes.
Moved by Drake, seconded by Mattke. Motion carried. To approve for Jerry Batien, Beadle County Highway Superintendent to attend Supervisory Training Course in Sioux Falls on February 27, 28 and March 6, 2008.
At 10:30 a.m. Chairperson Marcus declared bidding closed and the notice for bidders for Metal Pipe (culverts) & Bridge Materials effective February 1, 2008 thru January 31, 2009 was read, the following bids were received:
1) Central Culvert Supply - Pierre SD
(Bid in it’s entirety on file in the Auditor’s Office)
2) Huron Culvert & Tank Company – Huron SD
(Bid in it’s entirety on file in the Auditor’s Office)
Moved by Chase, seconded by Drake. Motion carried. To accept the bid of Huron Culvert & Tank Company – Huron as being lowest bidder and in the best interest of Beadle County.
Moved by Mattke, seconded by Drake. Motion carried. To approve 2006 HMLS Grant Equipment to transfer to Aberdeen Hazmat Team in the amount of $19,902.52.
Moved by Drake, seconded by Mattke. Motion carried. To approve 2007 HMLS projects as presented by Tom Moeding, Emergency Management Director in the amount of $97,316.03. These will be presented to State Office for approval.
The Board worked on General Policies for 2008.
On motion the Board adjourned to meet next on January 14, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
