PROCEEDINGS OF THE BEADLE COUNTY COMMISSION
FEBRUARY 7, 2008
The Board of Beadle County Commissioners met Thursday – February 7, 2008 at 12:00 p.m., pursuant to adjournment of January 31, 2008 with members present: Chairperson Marcus, Vice Chairman Chase, Drake, Mattke and Werner.
The minutes of January 31, 2008 were approved as read with no additions or changes.
Moved by Werner, seconded by Chase. Motion carried. To approve for Pierce & Harris Engineering to do a site survey plan for the block that the Courthouse and Correctional Center sit on at a cost not to exceed $2,800.00.
Moved by Werner, seconded by Mattke. Motion carried. To approve to set bid date of February 28, 2008 for HFMS-2P Road Oil at 10:30 a.m.; Hot Mix at 10:35 a.m. and Rental on Miscellaneous Road Equipment 10:40 a.m.
Moved by Chase, seconded by Drake. Motion carried. To approve 2008 allocation of $1,000.00 to HOPE Ranch Therapeutic Riding.
The 2008 Annual Meeting with Townships was held at 2:00 p.m. It was attended by 41 Township Supervisors representing 22 townships.
The Commissioners met with Beadle County Sheriff – Tom Beerman, to discuss the importance of Beadle County Sheriff’s Department monitoring Beadle County oil roads for 40mph speed for trucks and ton per axle weight limits as posted during the period of February 19, 2008 thru April 30, 2008. The 4 scales will be certified, along with Deputy Sheriff’s and scales will be placed in Sheriff’s cars. Public Notice will be published.
The Commissioners met with Kyle Raph from Koch Hazard Architects to go over plans for the Beadle County States Attorney Offices moving to the Courthouse.
Jerry Batien and Randy Hoscheid met with the Commissioners to go over building plans for office spaces at the Beadle County Highway Shop.
The Board adjourned to meet next on February 12, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
