PROCEEDINGS OF THE BEADLE COUNTY COMMISSION
MARCH 6, 2008
The Board of Beadle County Commissioners met Thursday – March 6, 2008 at 9:00 a.m., pursuant to adjournment of February 28, 2008 with members present: Chairman Marcus, Vice Chairman Chase, Drake, Mattke and Werner.
The minutes of February 28, 2008 were approved as read with no additions or changes.
Moved by Chase, seconded by Mattke. Motion carried. To approve to purchase MC3000 Road Oil from Flint Hills Resources off of Hand County Bid in the amount of $442.85 per ton. (Hand County Bid Date March 4, 2008)
Moved by Drake, seconded by Werner. Motion carried. To approve bid from Flint Hills Resources for HFMS-2P at $389.97 per ton that was bid on February 28, 2008.
Moved by Mattke, seconded by Chase. Motion carried. To approve to purchase Cationic Asphalt Emulsion (CRS-2P) from Flint Hills Resources off of SDDOT Bid in the amount of $388.97 per ton. (DOT Bid Date December 14, 2007)
Moved by Mattke, seconded by Chase. Motion carried. To approve bid from Asphalt Paving & Materials Company for Hot Mix that was bid on February 28, 2008.
Huron (Hwy 14 E) C1 Q-HVT w 65% Quartzite Rock w/PG64-28 AC and 1% lime $61.00 per ton
C1 D-I PG 64-22 AC $50.00 per ton
Moved by Werner, seconded by Drake. Motion carried. To approve for Jerry Batien, Beadle County Highway Superintendent to attend Asphalt Conference in Pierre on April 2 & 3, 2008.
Moved by Werner, seconded by Mattke. Motion carried. To approve for Deb Bozentko, Welfare Director to attend Welfare Workshop in Pierre on March 27, 2008.
Moved by Werner, seconded by Mattke. Motion carried. To go into Executive Session at 11:43 a.m. to discuss personnel matters. Chairman Marcus declared Executive Session over at 11:58 a.m.
Commissioners discussed the change in locations of the Huron Voting precincts to a central location such as the Huron Arena. They also considered combining several of the Huron Precincts. Resolutions will be presented at the next meeting for approval. This would be in effect for the June 3, 2008 Primary and November 4, 2008 General Elections.
The Board adjourned to meet next on March 11, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.
