PROCEEDINGS OF THE BEADLE COUNTY COMMISSION
NOVEMBER 18, 2008
The Board of Beadle County Commissioners met Tuesday – November 18, 2008 at 8:30 a.m., pursuant to adjournment of November 10, 2008 with members present: Chairman Marcus, Drake, Mattke and Werner. Absent: Vice Chairman Chase.
The minutes of November 10, 2008 were approved as read with no additions or changes.
Moved by Drake, seconded by Werner. Motion carried. To adopt the following resolution:
RESOLUTION 11-02-08
“GRANT SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET”
WHEREAS, unanticipated reimbursements were received from the State of South Dakota for Stop/Violence Against Women Act Grant. The following item will be added to the 2008 Budget year.
231 434.429 Stop Violence Grant Other $ 6,250.00
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Beadle County Commissioners do hereby propose, make and move for adoption of this Grant Supplemental Budget in the item set forth above.
Moved by Drake, seconded by Mattke. Motion carried. To approve to renew Intergovernmental Agreement
Between Huron City and Beadle County for sharing 911 telephone emergency call services for 2009.
Moved by Mattke, seconded by Drake. Motion carried. To approve to abate AG value of $22,493.00 (8 month value) for 2008 taxes payable in 2009 on Record #5778 in name of Betty Walter Living Trust as 30.3 acres sold to Western Area Power Administration. (Legal N 1320’ of W 1000’ of E2322.86’ of NE4, Section 16, Barrett Township)
Moved by Mattke, seconded by Drake. Motion carried. To approve refund of one month in the amount of $340.50 for 2007 tax payable 2008 and approve abatement of NA value of $4,999.00 on Record #12555 in the name of Jacqueline Sondreal as home as destroyed by fire and unsalvageable. (Legal: Lot 1 of N75’ of Lot 2 Riverview Heights Addition, Huron City.)
Mayor David McGirr, Commissioner Dale Schneider and Paullyn Carey Finance Officer for Huron City met with the Board to discuss special assessments and other fees on property that the county has taken for tax deed.
Kim Krueger, Director of Beadle County Humane Society and Board members met with the Commissioners to discuss snow removal or other in-kind services needed.
The Board adjourned to meet next on November 26, 2008 at 8:45 a.m.
