| PROCEEDINGS OF THE BEADLE COUNTY COMMISSION JANUARY 15, 2009 The Board of Beadle County Commissioners met Thursday – January 15, 2009 pursuant to adjournment of January 6, 2009 with members present: Chairman Marcus, Vice Chairman Drake, Benson, Mattke and Werner. The minutes of December 31, 2008 and January 6, 2009 were approved as read with no additions or changes. Moved by Mattke, seconded by Benson. Motion carried. To go into Executive Session at 1:11 p.m. for Evaluations of appointed personnel. Chairman Marcus declared Executive Session over at 4:00 p.m. Moved by Werner, seconded by Mattke. Motion carried. To approve for Jerry Batien; Beadle County Highway Superintendent to attend NACE Conference in Peoria Illinois April 19-23, 2009. Sharing gas expenses with other counties. Moved by Drake, seconded by Mattke. Motion carried. To approve for Jerry Batien; Beadle County Highway Superintendent to attend 25 hour Safety Course on Accident Prevention and Loss Control in Sioux Falls, South Dakota March 5, 19 & 26, 2009 Moved by Werner, seconded by Benson. Motion carried. To approve to hire Lucas Bergquist as jailer, effective January 20, 2009. Moved by Drake, seconded by Benson. Motion carried. To go into Executive Session at 4:45 p.m. to discuss personnel matters. Chairman Marcus declared Executive Session over at 5:55 p.m. Moved by Werner, seconded by Drake. Motion carried. To approve for Treasures Office to purchase three Promo HP Compaq Microtowers in the amount of $915.00 each, one with Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook at additional cost of $185.00. The Board visited with Beadle County Treasurer; Bonnie Horton about the property that is being taking by Tax Deed by the first business day in February 2009. Moved by Werner, seconded by Mattke. Motion carried. To adopt the following resolution: RESOLUTION 01-02-09 “GRANT SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET” WHEREAS, unanticipated reimbursements were received from the State of South Dakota Department of Public Safety Office of Homeland Security for US Department of Homeland Security 2009 Homeland Security Grant Program. The following item will be reimbursed for monies expended in the 2008 Budget year. 226 222.429.086 Emerg Mgmt 2008 HMLS Grant $6,795.56 Total $6,795.56 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the Board of Beadle County Commissioners do hereby propose, make and move for adoption of this Grant Supplemental Budget in the item set forth above.
