The Beadle County Welfare Office provides assistance to indigent county residents after all other resources have been exhausted.  Assistance is provided for:  rent, utilities, food, medical, hospitalization and burial.  Other types of assistance may be considered at time of application.  There is an application process and the application is presented to the County Commission for approval/denial based on South Dakota Codified Law and county guidelines.

The Beadle County Welfare Office also provides Representative Payee services for persons on Social Security Disability and Supplemental Security Income.  This service is provided according to guidelines set by the Social Security Administration.
